how is it September already?

Seems like I barely got back from Vancouver.  I still haven't finished unpacking. 

Remember that hard drive crash from a couple of months ago?  Yeah, well according to Disk Utility, the disk is hosed.  So now I'm pulling whatever I can get off the drive, and working off the cheap ass e-machine I bought off craigslist as a test machine.  Oh the joy of a 13" CRT.

died about 20 minutes after my previous post.

On the plus side, I have been able to pull a bootable backup off the old drive, and it appears that all my work files are intact, so with any luck, I should just be able to restore from this backup an not have to reinstall everything.

Am I just being sensitive, or is the upshot of this dialog something on the lines of "Yer hosed.  Good luck with that."
